One day a week is set aside for patients and their families to meet at Nairobi Hospice for group therapy, share experiences, talk with the staff and have a change of environment. They also engage in various activities e.g. knitting, beadwork, weaving among others. Meals are served at the Hospice and occasionally well wishers donate foodstuffs and clothing items for the patients to carry home with them.
This enables family members get some respite when the patients are at the Hospice.
The annual Christmas party is open to patients, care givers, and their families. This is made possible by well wishers and volunteers who contribute by bringing gifts, food, medicines and money to support the occasion.
